On July 24, the award ceremony of the 2023 FIDE Women's World Championship (Women's World Championship) was held in Chongqing Changshou District, and Shanghai chess player Ju Wenjun achieved the championship trophy from FIDE President Dvorkovic and won the world chess throne for the fourth time!

Ju Wenjun successfully defended his title after a fierce battle in 12 games of slow chess by defeating challenger Chongqing Lei Tingjie with 6.5-5.5.

It is worth mentioning that the defenders and challengers are both SUFE alumni. Ju Wenjun, a 2011 student of the School of Public Economics and Administration, has developed strong ability to self-examine. In this match, this match was played to the fullest in the unfavorable situation of one game behind the first half of the schedule and away from home in the second half, equalizing in the 8th game and surpassing in the 12th game.

In 2018 and 2020, Ju Wenjun defeated Tan Zhongyi, Russian Lagono and Goryakina, reaching the top of the world chess throne for four consecutive times, equaling the records of Chinese female chess players Xie Jun and Hou Yifan. Lei Tingjie, a 2018 student of the College of Business, has the excellent qualities of tenacity, hard work and sunshine. Lei Tingjie won the 2021 Swiss Women's Championship, qualified for the 2022/23 Candidates Championship and won the title, defeating alumnus Tan Zhongyi with 3.5-1.5 in the final to gain the right to challenge.

Congratulations to Ju Wenjun! Looking forward to the third Derby!
