SUFEr | Three Sufers win the gold medal of the women's chess team event in the Asian Games!

        On October 7th, chess masters in Asia gathered at the Hangzhou Chess Academy (Intelligence Building) Chess Hall to stage a wonderful women's team chess match. In the final, the Chinese women's team defeated the United Arab Emirates and won the gold medal. Champion members include SUFE student Zhu Jiner and two outstanding alumni - Tan Zhongyi and Zhai Mo!

 



SUFER Zhu Jiner

       In September 2021, she entered the School of Accountancy of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Although she is a young player in the Asian Games, she has been famous in the domestic chess field for a long time. She has won good results in major tournaments, becoming one of the representative figures of young chess players. Competitions and training form most of her life, but she integrates cultural course learning into every bit of her life. She has mastered the knowledge and skills of accounting profession in her spare time, achieving excellent results.

 

SUFER Tan Zhongyi

        At the Hangzhou Asian Games, Tan Zhongyi showed us her excellent demeanor as a world chess queen. She has been learning chess since she was a child, winning several chess tournaments in the five years from 2011 to 2016, and the World Women's Chess Championship in 2017, becoming the 16th queen in chess history. Alumni Tan Zhongyi truly practiced the spirit of the school motto and constantly broke through herself.


SUFER Zhai Mo 

Chinese chess team player, Hebei nationality, Alumni of the School of Public Economics and Administration

      

      In September 2017, she entered the School of Public Economics and Managemen, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Zhai Mo is a veteran of the domestic chess scene, and she won the World Chess Women's 12-year-old Championship in 2008. In 2013, she was awarded the title of Women's International Master by FIDE. In 2014, she won the women's championship of the individual B competition of the National Chess Championship. In 2016, she was promoted to Female Grandmaster. Zhai Mo was deeply influenced by the learning atmosphere of her alma mater, and she said that entering the university to study was very helpful for her to play chess, making her play chess much more bravely.

     Du Fuhua, the coach of the chess team of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, said proudly:" This is the most stable gold medal in the Asian Games , because the three Sufers are all strong scorers in the team competition. Let's look forward to the third World Championship Upper Derby."
