On the afternoon of 28th November, 2023, Mr Fu Jiabin, an alumnus of the class of 2005 and a member of the former aerobics team of the university, donated RMB 100,000 to the Education Development Foundation of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics to support the development of the aerobics team of the university, supporting the development of the campus sports career with practical actions, which demonstrated the alumni's deep affection for the alma mater.
Lv Jidong, Secretary of the Party Branch directly under the Department of Physical Education, and Dong Minkai, Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education, firstly expressed their warm welcome to Mr Fu Jiabin's return to his alma mater, and expressed their heartfelt thanks to the alumni for their love for the university, and both sides carried out in-depth exchanges on the development of the school's sports career, and alumnus Fu Jiabin said that this donation is a start, and that personal donations will be regularised in the future, so as to help the school's aerobics team to create new heights of excellence.
At 1:00 pm, the signing ceremony of the donation was held in the College of Entrepreneurship, Dong Minkai, deputy director of the Department of Physical Education and Teaching, Wu Jiarui, deputy director of the Cooperation and Development Department, Cai Yingmin, former head coach of the aerobics team, Zhang Yan, head coach of the aerobics team, Li Zhen, director of the project department of the School Educational Development Foundation, and all the team members of the aerobics team attended the ceremony, hosted by the deputy director of the Department of Physical Education and Teaching, Dong Minkai, Deputy Director of the Department of Cooperative Development on behalf of the Deputy Director of the Department of Wu Jiarui. Wu Jiarui, Deputy Director of the Cooperation and Development Department, signed a contract with Fu Jiabin on behalf of the Foundation.
During the exchange session, Fu Jiabin alumni's coach, the former head coach of the aerobics team, Miss Cai Yingmin, and the current coach of the aerobics team, Miss Zhang Yan, expressed their deep gratitude to Fu Jiabin alumni for the donation and hoped that the team would continue to work hard to come up with good results, and the current captain of the team, Su Jiayi, said that although aerobics training is hard, it is joyful to meet each other. They will prepare well for the next national competition and strive for good results. Mr Wu Jiarui, Deputy Director of the Cooperation and Development Department, thought that this school aerobics team fund donation would be a sunny combination of sports and public welfare, and that the Foundation would do a good job in the management and execution of the donated funds to live up to the high expectations of the alumni. Alumnus Fu Jiabin shared his own training experience and feelings in the aerobics team, hoping that the aerobics team can inherit the fine tradition of the old aerobics team: positive training, the belief in achieving good results and a sense of collective responsibility. He and many alumni will also strive to create the best conditions for everyone, and in the future will regularise and expand the donation, radiating the whole campus sports from aerobics.
