On December 3, the 2023 Shanghai College Student Wushu Championship was held at the Sports Center of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. More than 150 athletes from 25 universities, including Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Fudan University and Tongji University, participated in various events.
In this competition, the wushu team of our school sent a team composed of five athletes, Xue Yudian, Lai Xiaohong, Wu Zici, Hu Chen, and Pavlov Zlatin Petrow, to participate in the competition. Under the leadership of coach Wen Hongwei and Xin Chenxi, they participated in the competition of men's and women's group A marksmanship, knife skills, stick skills, swordsmanship, Taiji sword, southern boxing, Taijiquan, and traditional equipment. On the field, the old athletes are calm and tenacious, and the new athletes dare to fight, never give up, and compete in style and level. After fierce competition, our school won a total of 2 silver medals and 3 bronze medals. Graduate student Xue Yudian won the silver medal in men's swordsmanship and bronze medal in marksmanship in Group A, Lai Xiaohong won the silver medal in men's southern boxing and bronze medal in traditional equipment, and freshman Hu Chen tried his best to win a precious bronze medal in men's swordsmanship with a high fever that day. In addition, Pavlov Zlatin Petrow, a graduate student from Bulgaria, won the fourth place in Taijijian with his solid Taijiquan skills.
