In order to promote excellent traditional Chinese culture and enrich campus cultural life, the first Go chess King Cup Go chess competition was successfully held at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics from April 20 to May 12, 2024. In order to convey the fun of Go chess competition, this competition was divided into three groups: Open group, Sunshine group, and Team group.
The Open group adopted an elimination system. In the semi-finals, Wang Jihan from the School of Finance staged a comeback to defeat the favorite Yu Ruixi from the School of Accountancy, earning a spot in the finals. In the final three-game battle, Wang Jihan performed superbly and defeated Li Zhiran from the School of Accountancy with a score of 2:0, winning the championship.
The Sunshine group used a points-based ranking system, with Shen Yaoyi, Li Hao, and Zhang Zhenming claiming the top 3 respectively.
The Team Go chess group combined competition with fun, and the pair of Yang Chenming and Zhou Zhijian remained undefeated, claiming the championship. The pairs of Li Zhiran/Xu Yutong and Zhang Boyuan/Jiang Yuntian took the runner-up and third place respectively.
