On May 24, the 2024 Chinese University Student Rope Skipping Championship grandly opened at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics gymnasium.

Leaders and guests attending the opening ceremony included Vice Chairman of the Chinese Student Sports Federation and Vice Director and Secretary General of the Peking University School Affairs Committee, An Yufeng, Executive Director of the Chinese Student Sports Federation, Hua Aijun, President of the Shanghai Student Sports Association, Xue Mingyang, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Student Sports Federation, Xu Tao, Director of the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Sports Committee, Fang Hua, Vice Secretary of the Committee of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Zhu Mingxiong. The opening ceremony was hosted by Lv Jidong, Secretary of the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
Fang Hua expressed a warm welcome to all participating team leaders, coaches, athletes, and referees, expressing gratitude to all staff and volunteers for their hard work.
An Yufeng highlighted the significance of the competition in promoting the development of competitive sports in universities, advancing the practice of integrating sports and art education in higher education.
After athlete representative Li Nafula and referee representative Lan Bingwang took the oath, An Yufeng declared the competition officially opened.
With music playing, referee representatives such as Liu Dong'ao, Lan Bingwang, Wang Shisen, Gao Hekai, Song Jian, Wang Xiangxiang, brought a spectacular and outstanding visual feast of rope jumping performances featuring gymnastics, strength, continuous multiple rope swings, and other highly challenging movements.
As the first jump rope championship for Chinese university students, the event included various competitions such as counting matches and freestyle competitions. It featured 10 sub-events including 30-second single rope swing, 3-minute single rope swing, 30-second interactive speed rope, 230-second double rope relay, 430-second single rope relay, 1-minute 10-person long rope collective jump, 3-minute 10-person long rope 8 jump, individual freestyle elite level, two-person wheel jump freestyle elite level, and 8-person collective freestyle composition. There were team speed races, team freestyle competitions, and team rankings, with awards given accordingly.
The 2024 Chinese University Student Jump Rope Championship was organized by the Chinese Student Sports Federation, hosted by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, co-organized by Kanpai Sports Management Co., Ltd. (Beijing), and exclusively operated by Shanghai Dajianshi Sports Culture Communication Co., Ltd. Participants from 58 universities across 19 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) including Shanghai, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, Henan, Hunan, Guangdong, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Xinjiang.
"This is the first university jump rope championship, and it's also the first time since I entered university that I have the opportunity to represent our school in a competition. The school leadership values it greatly. While actively preparing for the 2024 Asian Jump Rope Championship with the Huadu team, our school's jump rope team trains every night in hopes of achieving good results in this competition. '' After 6 years, returning to the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics gymnasium, world champion in the 30-second single rope swing and 3-minute single rope swing, Cen Xiaolin, is full of confidence.
