On the evening of May 19, the final of the 13th Sports and Culture Festival College Cup volleyball match of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was held in the Fengyu gym. After fierce competition, the School of International Cultural Exchange defeated the School of Information Management and Engineering 2:1 and successfully won the championship.
The competition was hosted by the Sports Committee of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, undertaken by the Physical Education Department of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and co-organized by the Volleyball Association of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. The volleyball tournament starts on April 27, 2024 and lasts for 23 days, with a total of 12 houses participating.
At the beginning of the finals, the Information Institute quickly entered the state and took the lead in winning the first game with excellent team cooperation. However, the Institute was not discouraged, and they launched a counterattack in the second game to win by a narrow two-point lead, leveling the score at 1:1. Subsequently, the State Exchange Institute played a stable role in the third game, constantly creating opportunities with strong threat, and finally defeated the Information Institute with a score of 2:1 and won the championship.
In the award ceremony, Mr. Dong Minkai, deputy director of the Physical Education Department, presented awards to the top three teams. Mr. Dong Minkai spoke highly of the fighting spirit shown by the athletes in the competition, emphasized the importance of teamwork and perseverance, and encouraged the students to continue to carry forward this spirit in future competitions.
