From May 27th to May 31st, the 17th China University Sports Dance (National Ballroom Dance) Championship was held in Kyushu Gymnasium, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. The competition is sponsored by the China Student Sports Federation, jointly implemented by the University Sports Dance Branch of the China Student Sports Federation and the Working Committee of Higher Vocational Colleges of the China Student Sports Federation, and undertaken by the Mianyang Municipal Education and Sports Bureau. The competition lasted for 5 days, and nearly 150 college teams from 29 provinces and cities across the country, and more than 1,600 players participated in the fierce competition of 144 competitions.
Under the leadership of the team leader Mr. Lv Jidong and the coach Mr. Wang Qi, the sports dance team of our school participated in this national top competition for the first time, and after intense competition, 4 athletes won 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 fourth place. Among them, 2 gold medals are the highest individual group champions in Group A!
On the stage of sports competition, there is a miracle called dark horse. When a pair of athletes set foot on the national stage for the first time, they broke through the encirclement with amazing expressiveness and coordination to win the top category in one fell swoop, which is not only an affirmation of their individual talent and hard work, but also the ultimate display of sportsmanship.
Li Yuxuan and Zhao Ruohan, students from the School of Information Management and Engineering of our university, who are also the captains of our school's sports dance team, after two years of precipitation and a semester of hard training, they have become a blockbuster on the field, and won the national championship of four standard dances in the highest group of university group A in one fell swoop.
In the arena of sports competition, there is a kind of hero called persistence. When an athlete chooses to stand on the field despite the pain of injury, she shows not only a desire to win, but also a noble pursuit of sportsmanship. Cheng Xinya, a member of the team from the School of Law of our university, insisted on chasing her dreams on the field even though her instep was swollen and sore the day before the finals. Where there's a will there's a way. In the end, Cheng Xinya won the four national standard dance championships and the two standard dance championships in the highest single category of the university's group A. Her victory is the best encouragement for all those who insist on it!
Cheng Kezhen, a member of the team from the School of International Education of our university, as a contestant who has just been in contact with ballroom dancing for half a year, with his love and dream for ballroom dance, has a wonderful performance in the single triathlon S of the university group A and the single bicathlon of the university group A, and will advance to the semi-finals all the way. Although unfortunately he did not make it to the finals, he also played his best level, and after this national competition, I believe that he will definitely improve in future training and competitions!
