On August 20, the 2024 University Go Invitational Tournament successfully concluded in the picturesque Shanyuan area of Shangyu! The competition brought together 33 top-tier universities, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Zhejiang University, for an exciting showdown.
Our university sent four students to participate in this tournament. After four days of intense competition, Zhao Jiannan from the School of Public Economics and Administration secured the runner-up position, earning a highly prestigious silver medal despite facing strong challenges from several professional Go players!
Xu Jingqi from the School of Humanity finished 4th with a record of 7 wins and 2 losses, while Wang Jihan from the School of Finance and Chu Ker from the College of Business followed closely with 6 wins and 3 losses each. With a significant lead in total points, our team claimed the championship title!
Our athletes fought tenaciously on the competition stage, striving for perfection in every move and game. After the event, they engaged in friendly exchanges with peers from other universities, fostering camaraderie through Go and gaining valuable experiences. United as a team, these four students achieved remarkable results for our university. We also look forward to the Go team continuing to push forward and reach new heights!
