The event was inaugurated at our school by Shanghai's Vice Mayor, Xie Dong. The Deputy Secretary-General of the Municipal Government, Wang Ping, delivered a speech.
Our school's flag guard marched in with a vigorous pace, welcoming the national flag and the event flag. Wu Yijian, a doctoral student from the School of Economics, solemnly took the athlete's oath on behalf of the competitors. Liu Dong'ao, represented the faculty in a skill demonstration of rope skipping, showcasing the excellent spirit of our faculty and students.
A total of 118 delegations marched in the arena from 16 districts, 55 universities, and 47 vocational schools. They displayed the uplifting spirit of youth in the new era.
Sports Skill Showcase
Paris Olympic champions also attended the event! They offered their blessings and encouragement to the student athletes.
The school fully supported the organizing committee in preparing for this event, coordinating, venue support, safety assurance, and volunteer services. A total of 1,400 volunteers were organized for various roles, including etiquette services, guest reception, and campus guidance. This event will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen the development of sports culture on campus, encourage faculty and students to actively participate in sports, promote the spirit of Chinese sports, and contribute to building a strong sporting nation.
