On November 26th, the badminton competition (college group) of the 17th Shanghai Sports Meeting was held in Lide International Badminton Hall. 369 athletes from 36 universities in Shanghai actively participated. The badminton team of our school has achieved good results, with the men's team ranking seventh and the women's team ranking fifth in team competitions. The individual events are postponed due to the epidemic and will be held separately.
In this competition, the men's team of our school, successfully broke the curse that it has been difficult to enter the top eight since the epidemic. With their great effort and the professional guidance of the coach, they overcame the other four teams in the group to go out of the competition and entered the top eight successfully. Finally, they won the seventh place with joint hands.
In the women's team competition, the women's team of our school, under the condition of uneven strength of the members, also won the matches in the group through delicate arrangements. In the later knockout match, although we lost to Tongji University and failed to enter the top four, we still defeated the other strong enemy and finally came to the fifth place.
In the badminton competition of the 17th Shanghai Sports Meeting, our badminton team has both veteran players and new talents. The coach's earnest and responsible instruction and the team members' persistent training fully demonstrated the style of SUFE students. Thanks to all the players and coaches for their hard work.
