On the evening of December 10th, Beijing time, in the final of Group B of the 2022 FIDE Women's World Championship Candidates Competition, Chinese player Tan Zhongyi defeated Russian player Gorjachina with a record of 1 win and 3 draws. She will compete with Group A winner Lei Tingjie for the opportunity to challenge the current world champion Ju Wenjun. The three Chinese girls have already secured the next women's world title of chess for China. In the Group A match held in November, Chinese player Lei Tingjie successively defeated Muzchuk sisiters from Ukraine and entered the final of the Candidates Competition first.

This year's FIDE Women's World Championship Candidates Competition was divided into A and B groups. The winning players in groups A and B are both Chinese players, thus ensuring that the challenger who competes with Ju Wenjun next year will also be a Chinese player. This also ensured that Chinese chess players would win the women's chess world championship for the 15th time in the history. They also swept the top three places in this World Chess Championship.

The three Chinese girls are all alumni of SUFE. In 2020, Lei Tingjie helped our school team win the team championship of the chess competition of the World University Mind Games. Tan Zhongyi is one of the top ten distinguished alumni of our school. Ju Wenjun is a student of the School of Public Economics and Administration of SUFE in 2011. SUFE is recognized as the cradle of world champions in intellectual sports.

Next, the duel between Tan Zhongyi and Lei Tingjie will be held in the first quarter of 2023. The winner will be eligible to challenge current women's world champion Ju Wenjun for the new world championship title. The three will present a wonderful Chinese derby showdown in the international arena. No matter who the winner is, it is the glory of SUFE, but also the glory of China.
